Standing Ovation to the creator of SALT & Jolie as well for her outstanding performance. Thumbs up !!! Angelina Jolie stars beautifully in SALT as the title itself, a contemporary espionage thriller about a CIA agent who is accused of being a Russian spy and becomes a federal fugitive.

Angelina Jolie gives it her all in the title role, and her seasoned performance is almost enough to save SALT from its predictable and ludicrous plot.

SALT was originally offered to Tom Cruise before it came to Jolie as Cruise had prior commitments. No wonder Cruise didn’t take it. After all, Mission Impossible and Knight and Day were on the same lines. The script was rewritten for Jolie and it is the actress who infuses that spark in this otherwise formulaic action thriller.

A mysterious main character, lots of action and a complicated plot combine for a pretty good summer popcorn movie. Angelina establishes herself as the queen of action once again. She proves she is no less than a man when it comes to playing an out-and-out ‘action-oriented’ character.

Watching Jolie leaps from bridges onto moving semis or seeing how she ingeniously gets a cop to drive with the help of a stun gun, I am essentially looking at the female version of James Bond and she acts better than some recent Bonds 007.
